I’m Not Ok

It’s always awesome when someone introduces you to a new song or artist and you just can’t wait to hear more.

And how would I ever know
If I never tried,
If I never tried to love you
It’s easy to blame myself
I wanted something else
Wanted something else

Dreams start to fade away
Became another day
And then another day
Goes by
Can’t seem to watch it past
Was never good at that
Was never good at that
Was I?

I’m not ok
With just leaving
Or holding back my words
Until I need them
I’m not ok
With just leaving
I love you too much

Thought I was above
I guess I really wasn’t
I guess I really wasn’t
A kiss meant to fade
And feelings go away
Feelings go away

I’m not ok
With just leaving
Or holding back my words
Until I need them
I’m not ok
With just leaving
I love you too much

I’m not ok
With just leaving
Holding back my words
Until I need them

I’m not ok
With just leaving
I love you too much
How would I ever know
If I never try
If I never tried

Meaningless

Yes, Requiem for a Dream is a crazy movie about addiction. That said, this is one of my favorite movie scenes ever. This moment between the two characters is so simple and real.

Personally I think it is impossible to watch this movie and not feel something.

You, My Love

Sun falls down like the memory of a sword,
Turned everything from gold into grey.
There’s a light that still finds your face,
Giving all the dust and shadows a name.

And the night turns just as cold as the surface of the moon,
Showing nothing more than sorrow and the faith,
There’s a sight sitting slowly in my mind,
With a sound that is waking up the shade.
With a sound that is waking up the shade.

It’s you, my love, so kind are your eyes,
I see them in the darkest skies.
If it’s true, my love, I’ve got to see the way
I’ll love you till my dying day.

(Dying day)

A feeling hits your heart like an arrow in the snow,
Waking all the blood that’s sweeping in your veins.
It’s alright for it that you don’t really know
Just how the water’s going to deal with your remains.

Just how the water’s going to deal with your remains…

There’s a spirit in your mind, I can see it in your eyes,
Like a gift you bring to ease a trouble too.
Where we cast another storm beneath the sad stained moon,
And wait to find ourselves alone,
In a room.

And wait to find ourselves alone…

It’s you my love, so kind are your eyes,
I see them in the darkest skies.
If it’s true, my love, I’ve got to see the way
I’ll love you till my dying day.

It’s true, my love, so kind are your eyes,
I see them in the darkest skies.
If it’s true, my love, I’ve got to see the way
I’ll love you till my dying day.

Dying day…

Everlong

Acoustic version, of course.

And I wonder
When I sing along with you
If everything could ever be this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I’ll ever ask of you
You gotta promise not to stop when I say when
